Dr. Lingswiler began her career in 1985 at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut where she developed and implemented an outpatient group treatment program for women with eating disorders. She co-authored several published articles on bulimia as well. She then joined the staff of Connecticut Valley Hospital, Middletown, Connecticut, and became the Assistant Director of Clinical Training for the Psychology Internship Program. At Connecticut Valley Hospital, she received the Psychology Department award for outstanding contributions as a Psychologist. Dr. Lingswiler also served as an Assistant Adjunct Clinical Professor at the University of Hartford and at Antioch New England. She joined the Residency Program in 1998, and became the Director of Behavioral Science Residency Education in 2006. In the residency program her teaching and precepting have focused on the psychosocial dimensions of medical care. Since 1988 Dr. Lingswiler has also maintained a private practice, most recently in Middletown, Connecticut.
