Following his postgraduate training, Dr. Kazakoff practiced medicine in Vancouver, BC, Australia and Papua, New Guinea. After his return to Canada, he opened a private practice in family medicine in Montreal where he practiced for over five years. At that time he was named Director of Geriatric Services at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, a teaching hospital associated with McGill University. He joined the Middlesex Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program in 1984 and was named Chairman of the Department of Family Medicine in 1997. He also chairs the Middlesex Health System Quality Improvement Committee and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Medical Staff. He holds appointments as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and Assistant Clinical Professor at the Yale University School of Medicine. He was a longtime member of the Board of Directors for the Connecticut Academy of Family Physicians where he served as president during 1995-1996. Dr. Kazakoff has published several papers on Lyme disease and served as an editor for the Core Content Review of Family Medicine.
