Our History. Our Mission.
After more than 35 years teaching family medicine, and turning out some of the brightest, most talented, and most dedicated family physicians around, we've learned a little something about what makes a great doctor. That's why, over the years, we have attracted a diverse population of students with a wide range of interests and from a variety of unique backgrounds. The one commonality: They all have a passion to be the best.
At the Middlesex Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program, we embrace this passion, and we work hard to provide our residents with an inspiring, provocative and unencumbered real world learning environment that brings community medicine to a whole new level.
Middlesex Hospital, a highly regarded, 275-bed community hospital, was established in 1904. The hospital offers patients some of the most state-of-the-art technology available anywhere. Superior radiological services, a Cancer Center, a Center for Bariatric Surgery, and two nationally-recognized satellite medical centers in Middlesex County are just a few of the highlights that Middlesex Hospital offers the community.
Middlesex Hospital was the first Connecticut hospital to be awarded Magnet status as a hospital with premier nursing. The Emergency Centers have earned Press-Ganey recognition for 99 percentile patient satisfaction over and over again. And a number of hospital services, including Bariatric Surgery, Advanced Surgical Techniques and Rehabilitation Services have been honored as Centers of Excellence.
